LOT.....2... RODWELL PUTTER. Aluminum mallet Putter with a "Circular Aiming Hump" and "The Rodwell New Standard Putter # 1981" on the head. These were actually manufactured at the "Standard Golf Company" for Rodwell. Replacement shaft. G-5+ $140-225
LOT.....3... A SCARCE MILLS 'R N B' MODEL" with a Flat lie and odd, thick "sight line" on top with all markings and patent information well defined. The hosel is sound. The shaft has a warp at the grip. All stampings are deep and bold. Nice example. G-7 $70-120

LOT.....10... A SUPERB "THE VICTORY" PUTTER. Virtually MINT new Crescent shaped toe Aluminum mallet marked "The Victory Putter, V Howell, 686301". A very scarce all original putter. G-8+ $190-325
LOT.....11... A SCARCE THE VERDEN PUTTER. A circa 1910-1920 Aluminum mallet with the sole marked "The Verden" Medium Lie and having a rounded "Dome" stamped "Imperial Golf Co, Sunderland, England". Shaft is a replacement. G-7 $140-250
LOT.....12... A SCARCE STREAMLINE PUTTER with aluminum head and "T Bar" sightline with "Streamline" on the top. Two "Rails" or "Runners" on the bottom with a circular lead weight between them. G-7+ $190-375
LOT.....13... A LONG NOSE TYPE ALUMINUM putter stamped "Putter X X Flat". The back of the putter is slanted and there is a black "Sight" line on the head. Would be G-9 except for the replacement buff leather grip. $80-140
LOT.....14... A MORRIS LONG NOSE. A Morris fruit wood head Putter c-1865-1870 stamped "T Morris" on the long head with curved neck. A crack from the lead weight towards the "T Morris" stamp was successfully stopped buy a repair made with screw. Whippings look original and the grip is an old sheep skin. A significant early Morris in spite of the repair. G-7 $1400-2500
LOT.....15... AN OUTSTANDING HUNTLEY PUTTER. "Huntley" on the aluminum mallet head with the shaft having a thumb slot grip handle. 1920 patent stamps at the top of the handle. G-8 $150-275
LOT.....16... A SPALDING "M R" ALUMINUM mallet putter circa 1915-20 with "A G Spalding& Bros." in script on the head and "MR" on the sole. Hosel has one hairline crack, otherwise the club is G-8. $90-150
LOT.....17... A WAVERLY HORTON ALUMINUM head mallet putter not listed in Georgiady. "Waverly Horton, Chicago" on the back of a large heel shafted aluminum head. First one I've encountered! Shaft is a replacement and the hosel is sound. Head is G-8. $150-300.
LOT.....18... A PARK TRANSITIONAL PUTTER with "P" and "Wm Park, Scotland" on the head and shaft. Probably made after Park's death as this one looks circa 20's-30's. Crack in the neck partially covered by whipping. $200-400
LOT.....19... A WILLIE PARK LONG NOSE PUTTER with repaired back lead weight. "Wm Park" faintly readable on the shallow faced head. G-3 $400-700
LOT.....20... A SUPERB FORGAN MAXMO socket mallet putter circa 1920. "Pat. Apd For" on the sole. G-9 $400-700
LOT.....21... A SANS DOUTE ALUMINUM MALLET with a FIVE sided Hickory shaft. "Sans Doute Reg No. 696043" between the sight lines on a virtually MINT example of this elusive collectible. G-9 $190-325
LOT.....22... A MACGREGOR LEAD FACE MALLET with no head stamps, however the original shaft is stamped Macgregor. The hosel, shaft and grip are flat on top permitting placing the thumbs flat on top. A nice collectible American putter. G-7+ $190-375
LOT.....23... A MACGREGOR RIGHT ANGLE PUTTER virtually MINT without stampings except for "J Campbell" in an oval on the shaft. The following is from the 1917 Macgregor catalogue: "Model R. A. Persimmon wood having special fibre face with hickory pin inserts. A true right angle of black fibre is inlaid in top of club affording a most accurate 'sight line' for direction of putt". LOT.....24... LONG NOSE "Y MODEL" PUTTER. A Scarce circa 1900 "Y Model" Long Nose Aluminum Putter with a Medium Lie. The "Y" was modeled after the famous maker Philp long nose putters. Sole and head stamps are deep and bold and the hosel is sound. Replacement is stamped "Auchterlonie, St Andrews". G-6+ $150-300
LOT.....25... A RARE "K" MODEL. A seldom offered "K" Model, Mills, Long Nose aluminum head putter with one very minor hairline crack in the hosel. The wooden grip is oval in shape with a small flat area for the thumbs. This is a very scarce, nice collectible. G-6+ $160-375
LOT.....26... A MILLS "Z" MODEL. A good example of the scarce "Z" Model, Mills Long Nose aluminum putter. All head and sole stamps are good and the hosel is sound. Grip is a replacement over the original shaft. This example would make a nice addition to any collection. G-7 $175-350
LOT.....27... a mills "L" model aluminum long noseputter. The head has an added sight line and the hosel has a repair covered with whipping. The original shaft is stamped "Standard Golf, Sunderland, England" below the replacement grip. G-5 $100-175

"J H Taylor, Reg. # 607239" is stamped above and below the unusual raised "sight" line on the head. There is a chip out of the hosel and a crack to the hosel pin on one side. Head and stampings are good, hosel is the only problem. G-5 $100-200

LOT.....31... A NEW MILLS RAY MODEL aluminum mallet putter circa 1915 with a medium lie. All original. G-7 $45-90
LOT.....32... A MILLS "RNG" PUTTER. An outstanding example of a moderately scarce Mills "R N G" Model aluminum head mallet putter with a "T" bar sight line. All sole stampings are bold and the hosel is sound. "Moor Park" is stamped on the shaft below a circa 1920's green leather grip. G-8 $70-125
LOT.....33... A VARDON MODEL ALUMINUM PUTTER. "Vardon 'S S' Model" stamped on the sole. Two minor hairline hosel cracks undoubtedly the result of the reshafting by Forgan. G-7 $80-150
LOT.....34... AN OUTSTANDING CRESCENT HEAD PUTTER. "Special Putter" in the Brown-Vardon style with "pyramid" dot face scoring. The head is stamped "Suggs, Ltd, Makers, Liverpool". Hosel is oval as well as the Greenheart shaft. A great looking putter. G-8 $150-300
LOT.....35... A GEM TYPE NOIRIT LEAD FACE putter. "E & A Noirit, Walsall" on the back. G-7 $100-175
LOT.....36... A TRAVERS SCHENECTADY style Putter with "Jerry Travers" in script above "1 Laurel Place, Hartford, Conn" stamped into the back. "Jerry Travers" in block letters on the sole. G-7 $175-325
LOT.....37... A VIRTUALLY MINT SCHENECTADY circa 1920's. The tiny Patent dates are imprinted too high on the back and "No. 976267, Sole Licencee, Harry C Lee Co" is stamped boldly on the sole. This club is as close to MINT never used as I have seen! G-9+ $375-600
LOT.....38... A NICE SCHENECTADY PUTTER with a medium lie. "Schenectady Putter Pat Mar. 24, 1903" stamped on the back with the Harry C Lee "Acorn" mark on the sole. Grip is a replacement. G-7+ $190-375
LOT.....39... A SCHENECTADY type most likely made by Mills with the bottom stamped "Model, Medium Lie, 9 oz, 13 dr." Circa 1909 or earlier as the R & A outlawed these for use in Great Britain as of the 1910 season. The grip is an old red allweather over thick listing and the hosel has several cracks. Better than it sounds. G-5++ $100-200
LOT.....40... A NICE SCHENECTADY stamped "Tom Anderson, Montclair, NJ" on the top, no other markings. Anderson was at Montclair from 1903-15. G-7+ $160-275
LOT.....41... A SCHENECTADY TYPE aluminum head stamped "Macgregor, Dayton, O." surrounding a shamrock". Hosel is sound. Original looking shaft is not stamped. G-6 $100-175

LOT.....51... AN AYRES TWO LEVEL BACK PUTTER. Ayres' "Maltese Cross" mark is at the toe and "J W Moore, Royal Eastbourne" on the unusual back that has a ridge from heel to toe and gives it the appearance of a roof with sloping sides. "The Facet" in a "Triangle Sweet Spot" on a dot faced straight blade. G-7 $90-175
LOT.....52... A SCARCE LONG TOM PUTTER. Halley's "Shell" mark at the toe of a circa 1925-30 "Long Tom Putter". The face has dots on the lower 2/3rds with the top 1/3rd smooth and beveled back. Unusual. G-8 $120-200

LOT.....54... AN OUTSTANDING COCHRANE'S "Rustless Bent Neck Putter" similar to a Taylor's model. The "Knight" mark is at the toe and the face is a nice bordered hyphen design. Head is G-9+, grip is a play grip. $90-150

LOT.....65... "HUNT" NON-RUSTABLE APPROACHING PUTTER circa 1898-1900. Shaft is a replacement. A few dings in the soft non-rustable metal head and hosel. "Hunt's Nonrustable" stamp is perfect. Very sacare! G-6+ $120-250
LOT.....66... A BRAID PUTTER BY WILSON. "The Braid Special 9" off set blade Putter made by Wilson. Warped original shaft. G-5+ $40-80
LOT.....67... A SPALDING THISTLE PUTTER. "Thistle" in large block letters between two large Thistle marks. Butt of grip/end of shaft shows no evidence of being in a golf bag. G-9+ $70-140

LOT.....69... ANDERSON & BLYTHE. An outstanding circa 1905-10 smooth face Putting Cleek, the head shaped exactly like an 1875 Cleek. Stewart's "Pipe" and "Inspection Dot" are on the back along with the "Anderson & Blythe" oval mark. All original with a nice russet grip. Virtually MINT. G-8+ $100-175
LOT.....70... A SCARCE SKELETON STAMP. "The Bogee" in large block letters on the toe above the "Skeleton" mark on a long shallow blade. An all original outstanding example of this seldom offered putter. G-8 $120-200
LOT.....71... AN EARLY NICOLL PUTTER with Nicoll's first "Hand" mark on a smooth face rounded back Putter stamped "The Premier". "G. Nicoll, Leven" in block letters on the back. Replacement Grip. A scarce early Nicoll. G-6 $100-175
LOT.....72... A SCARCE REDAN PUTTING CLEEK with a ridge running length wise from toe to heel on the back. This example also has a twelve hole Maxwell hosel. Looks all original. G-8 $175-300
LOT.....73... A SUPERB BENNY PUTTER with smooth face and ribbed sole and Sayer's "Bird" mark at the toe. The Dangawood shaft is round coming out of the hosel, however it changes to square through the grip and is stamped "B Sayers, Selected". THE HEAD EXHIBITS VIRTUALLY NO EVIDENCE OF PLAY. G-9 $190-350
LOT.....74... A VIRTUALLY MINT PUTTER. "The Leslie 56" Putter featuring a "step down" back with the bottom 3/4ths inch thicker than the top. Spence's "Flag-In-Hole" mark is at the toe. G-9+ $135-225
LOT.....75... NEAR MINT PER WHIT with hollowed out back . Made by Hendry & Bishop, it has their "Bishop's Hat" mark. "The Per Whit, Rustless" and "Made In Scotland" are all on the back. About three years ago a nice example brought $1,050. in one of my sales. This is a match to that putter. G-9 $700-1200
LOT.....76... AN OUTSTANDING WHIPPET with Nicoll's "Hand" mark and "M J Brady Special" on the back. Mike Brady was runner up in both the 1911 and 1919 US Opens. Although he did not win a Major, he was one of the best American players during the Teens. G-8 $80-15
LOT.....77... A PEACOCK PUTTER BY GOURLAY with an unusual inverted MUSSEL back weighting. Very scarce! G-8 $120-200
LOT.....78... A SUPERB SLOTTED HOSEL PUTTER by Macgregor with the Shield dot punched face and large flanged back. The back is stamped "S X B, Macgregor Superior" and "Pat'd. May 14, 1918". Original stamped shaft and grip. Quite scarce, especially this nice! G-9 $200-400
LOT.....79... A NICE PATENTED PUTTING CLEEK. "Anderson Special Putting Cleek, Rd. No. 277771" with "1541" stamped at the heel. The smooth face blade is off set and similar to Taylor's twisted hosel Putter. Good example of a scarce Patent putter. G-8 $140-250
LOT.....80... A SCARCE TOP SPIN PUTTER with Halley's "Pyramid" mark and "45 Special" at the toe. The top of the blade is twice as thick as the bottom, supposedly applying "Top Spin" to the ball. G-7 $190-300
LOT.....81... A BENT NECK PUTTER similar to Taylor's. "A McLaren, Hempstead" on back with Gibson's Star mark. G-6 $60-100
LOT.....82... A GIBSON "VARSITY" PUTTER. An Anti-Shank Putter stamped "Varsity PuttER" with Gibson's "Star" mark at the toe. Similar to the Smith's model with heel and toe bulges. G-6+ $175-300

Jeff Ellis writes, TCA P-146-148: "...Dunn's Patent driver on P-146 is one of the clubs patented by John D Dunn and marketed by him and his father...Few one-piece woods made by Dunn and marked with his name remain today".
