BIDDING MADE EASY!
All bids must be received by 11PM CST January 19, 1999.
The bidding works this way:
The low lot estimate is the minimum bid accepted. Bids below the low
estimate will be declined. The two estimates reflect the
cataloguers estimate of Low Wholesale and Suggested Retail,
which also makes the catalogue a valuable pricing reference. If you
WANT a lot, it is advisable to bid between the estimates, or above
the high estimate. You will only pay the next bidding increment above
the next highest bid received.
EXAMPLE: If you submit a $200. bid and the highest recorded bid on file for that lot is $140, your bid is recorded as $150. (one bidding increment over the next highest bid), with a $200. limit. If no one bids over $150, the lot is yours at $150, not $200. If someone bids $170, your bid now becomes $180 with a limit of $200. In my last sale, a bidder placed a $2,200 bid on an item and paid only $800, as the next highest recorded bid was $750.
No one will be told the high bid until they submit a bid.
Here are some minor changes:
1. If two bidders submit identical bids, the earliest postmark,
calling time, FAX time or eMail will be the high bidder. In this
case, it pays to bid early.
2. You may call 1-800-882-4825 up to the closing time of 11PM CST
Tuesday, Jan. 19 to find out how your bids are doing. You can either
increase your bids or stand pat.
3. Shipping, insurance (Values over $100.) and handling will be added
to the invoice.
Thank you and good luck!
