5 AN UNDERRATED "BEAUMONT" ALUMINUM head mallet. "F" and "Pat Apl'd For" on the sole and "Beaumont" on the back. The "C" shaped aluminum head has a raised black sightline and a steel face insert. A nice collectible from the late 1920's. $150-300
6 A FORGAN "MAXMO" ALUMINUM mallet putter circa 1920's. "Maxmo" on head and sole. "Forgan, St Andrews" on the original shaft. G-7 $100-200
7 A MacDOUGAL STYLE ALUMINUM putter with aiming bars and hollowed out area on top of an aluminum mallet. "Kroydon S 30 A Putter" is on the sole. Looks all original. G-7 $100-200
8 A SCARCE "MONARCH" ALUMINUM putter with "A H Scott, Elie, Scotland" and their "Lion-on-Crown" mark. Hosel has a crack, otherwise this would be G-8. I've seen only a couple of these in the past 12 years! $125-250

10 A SCARCE TAYLOR ALUMINUM MALLET PUTTER. A "Mills" type aluminum head with "Model 'F'" on the bottom and "J H Taylor, Reg. # 607239" above and below the unusual raised "sight" line on the head. Hosel has a repair that is covered by whipping. G-5+ $120-200
11 AN UNUSUAL ALUMINUM HEAD PUTER. A scarce Cassidy aluminum mallet with an unusual "V" shaped sight line. "Cassidy's Regd. Putter" and "VEE" are stamped on the bottom. G-6 $90-150

16 A MACGREGOR LEAD FACE ALUMINUM mallet putter. No markings on the head. The original shaft is marked. This exerpt taken from the Macgregor 1917 Catalogue: "The straight lines of the top of this putter aid in obtaining accurate direction. Hosel is flat on top, same shape being carried in the shaft and grip, permitting placing the thumbs flat on top of grips, affording better control. Pitted lead insert which absorbs schock of impact and imparts an even, steady motion to the ball." G-6 $140-250
17 A MACGREGOR #60 BRASS PUTTER with a stag-dot face and flanged back. All original with a stamped shaft. G-8 $75-125
18 A SCARCE HIATT BRASS PUTTER circa 1895-1900 made for "R W Kirk, Wallasy" with "Hiatt" weakly in the center. Original looking shaft and replacement buff grip. G-5 $75-125

20 A BRASS BLADE PUTTER. A scarce circa 1900 ARMY & NAVY brass head blade with the head clearly stamped "A & N C S L". Replacement shaft is of exotic Dangawood. G-6 $80-140
21 A PARK STYLE BENT NECK PUTTER stamped "S D & G Best Quality". Most likely made by Spalding as this is exactly the same putter as the "The Spalding" model. G-6 $60-120
22 A BENT NECK PUTTER similar to the Taylor putter. "A McLaren, Hempstead" on the back above Wm Gibson's Star mark. G-6 $75-150
23 A PARK BENT NECK PUTTER. "W Park's Special Patent" nearly emoried away on his Bent Neck smooth face putter patented in 1892. See "Ellis", P 171. Shaft is clearly stamped "Wm Park" below a period type replacement grip. G-5. $120-200
24 A GOOD GOOSE NECK smooth face Putter circa 1900 with "Braser & Co., Lowell" on the back. original shaft with replacement wrapped leather grip. G-6+ $60-100

28 A FLANGED, WIDE SOLE PUTTER. A nice circa 1920's wide sole, flanged back Putter with a bordered line face. Same as Burke's #69 Putter although there are no markings. G-7+ $90-150
29 A NICE CRESCENT HEAD PUTTER similar to the Spalding "Hilton" and "Brown-Vardon" models. This one is stamped "Burke Prestwick" and has the Bee and Flower marks. G-7 $120-200
30 A SCHENECTADY PUTTER in virtually MINT condition. A circa 1920's example with "Schenectady Putter Pat. March 24, 1903" in tiny lettering on the back. "No. 976267, Sole Licensee Harry C Lee & Co." on the sole. G-9 $200-400
31 A PERSIMMON HEAD SCHENECTADY with a full brass face and aluminum half sole. There is a 3 inch long 1/2 inch wide lead back weight. Some lettering on the head is not readable. G-5+ 100-200

37 A "GIRAFFE PUTTER" with the Spence "Flag-in-Hole" mark (Forgan after 1926 ). The off set bent neck hosel is 5 1/2 inches long. Shaft has a repair covered by whipping. Excellent markings. G-6 $70-140
38 A GIBSON MAXWELL HOSEL PUTTER stamped with the "Rook" mark and "Fife Golf Co., Kinghorn". Hosel has 10 wrap around holes. A nice putter. G-7 $70-140

43 A WM. GIBSON "ESKIT" PUTTER with a ribbed sole similar to the Benny Putter. Gibson's "Star" mark has the letter "G" inside. Head is G-9, grip is a play grip. $150-275

58 A MORRIS LONG NOSE PLAY CLUB circa 1855-1865 with a long graceful neck. "T Morris" on the brown stained beech head. The original ram's horn slip has been filed away near the toe to adjust the original severely hooked face made to control a featherie. A full leather face insert was added with the advent of play with gutta percha balls in the 1860's, however, the face still remains slightly hooked. Original looking grip is tattered and weather beaten. Splice whippings have been replaced. A significant early Morris. G-6 $3200-4500
59 A SCARCE F H AYRES TRANSITIONAL WOOD. A circa 1890-95 semi-long nose golden Beech Play Club stamped "F H Ayres". Some minor flaking of the grain at the toe detracts very little from the outstanding overall appearance of this late 19th Century scarcity. Original sheep skin grip has a minor problem at the butt. In his 2000 Value Guide, Georgiady lists this at $1600. G-7++ $950-1600
60 A GOOD FORGAN PLAY CLUB. A circa 1880's golden Beech long nose Play Club with "R Forgan" in small block letters above a bold "Plume" mark. Splice whippings look old, but are most likely not the original. The shaft is stamped "R Forgan & Son, St Andrews" below the original looking sheep skin grip. The face is full leather with one nail having been placed too near the crown and is partially visible on the head. It hardly detracts from the overall appearance of this scarce late 19th Century rarity. FROM THE BERT HEIZMAN COLLECTION. G-7 $1750-2450
61 A MITCHESON LONG NOSE PLAY CLUB circa 1885-1890 with a slightly hooked faced. "W L Mitcheson" on the head and original shaft. The whippings at the grip and splice appear to be original. G-8 $950-1750
62 A SUPERB FORGAN BULGER DRIVER circa 1895 with the "Plume" mark, "Mitchell Manchester" and "R Forgan" on the honey colored beech head. Appears to be MINT NEW! Shaft stamped below the original grip. All whippings appear to be the originals. A rare opportunity to purchase premium quality and scarcity! Pictured in my book P-87. G-9 $750-1500
63 A SCARCE SCOTTISH GOLF COMPANY WOOD. "SGCMCo Ltd, Edinburgh" is on the honey colored transitional pear shaped beechwood head. SGCMCo was only in business from 1895-1898. Original shaft has a whipping covered repair and the grip is an original looking sheep skin. FROM THE COLLECTION OF ARCHIE BAIRD. G-5 $550-850
64 A SCARCE McEWAN BULGER. A very scarce and seldom offered circa 1890's semi-long nose Bulger face Play Club with "McEwan" boldly on the medium brown Beech head. There is pronounced curve from heel to toe producing a "bulge" at the sweet spot, thus the name "Bulger". Today, clubs with a similar face design are labeled "Geer" effect. Appears all original with a nice thick sheep skin grip. G-7 $900-1450
65 A SEMI-LONG NOSE BY GOUDIE & CO. A circa 1895 - 1900 Spoon having a semi-long nose pear shaped head with "Goudie & Co. 'M'" on the honey colored head. The sole has a full brass plate and the grip is a period replacement. A very seldom offered maker from Glasgow. G-7 $350-550
66 A WILLIE PARK COMPRESSED HEAD SPOON circa 1890's with "Park's Compressed Patent" on the compact, well lofted head. The face has a full leather insert, the sole a brass plate and there are three circular back lead weights. The head and neck were "steamed" so the neck could be "bent" allowing the grain to run from the head, straight up the shaft. John Dunn's "One Piece", patented several years later, was probably copied from this principle. All original with a marked shaft. Splice whipping replaced. G-6 $400-750
67 AN "R. MUNRO" COMPACT HEAD BRASSIE with "R Munro" in block letters on the circa 1895 head and an "Army & Navy" stamped shaft. Very seldom offered maker! G-5 $400-700
68 A RARE TAYLOR, EDINBURGH BRASSIE. "Taylor, Edinburgh" on the crown of this circa 1895 example with a horn slip between the full brass sole plate and leather face. All original with original or period whippings still intact. G-7 $400-750
69 A MILLS "BA" MODEL ALUMINUM BRASSIE with three wood block back weights. Shaft looks cut down. Head and sole markings are good. G-5 %175-300
70 A MILLS STANDARD ALUMINUM "MID IRON". A nice "B S D 2" fairway club with the loft of about a #4 iron. The hosel is sound and there are two circular WOOD back weights. The shaft is stamped "Shafted by James Halley" below a great looking circa 1900 sheep skin grip. G-7 $225-375
71 A FORKED SPLICED SCOTT PATENT. "A H Scott Patent No 21444" in an oval beneath the Prince of Wales "Plume" mark on a FORKED splice Brassie. Marked original shaft with a replacement grip. There was a small void behind the third peg near the heel, which I repaired. I also replaced the whippings. G-5 $225-375
72 A SCOTT PATENTED "FORK SPLICE" Driver with the 1902-1910 "Plume" mark and "A H Scott Patent No 21444" on crown. Splice whippings and the grip are replacements. G-5 $300-500
73 A SUPERB "SMCO" BRASSIE with a honey colored Persimmon head. Virtually MINT NEW! "SMCO" and the "Crescent" are on the head and "SMCO" is on the shaft below a mint original russet grip. It is hard to imagine a nicer example of this rarely offered club. G-9 $700-1250
74 A RARE MURRAY PATENT CLEEK circa 1911-1915. The hickory shaft is joined to the steel hosel in the same manner as a spliced neck wood. The excellent back stampings are: "The F. Murray, Patent #9439" and Gibson's unusual stamp of his "Star" surrounded by "Wm Gibson, Ltd, Kinghorn, Scotland" inside a large Double Circle. Grip appears to be the original. An outstanding, near mint example. G-8+ $1500-2500
75 WALTER HAGEN "STERLING" SILVER Putter, made by Lambert Brothers, New York. It sold for $35.00 in 1929! Markings bold, especially "Sterling" on the hosel. Shaft and grip with silver end cap are originals. Very scarce and seldom offered. G-7 $600-1000
76 A RARE "SMCO" BRASS PUTTER, virtually MINT NEW with a "Diamond" back design. "SMCO" is on the shaft below the original russet grip. Rare in any condition. G-8+ $400-800
77 A SPALDING SPRING FACE CLEEK with short, Carruther's bore thru hosel. "George Ace, Special, Tenby" in an oval on the back. Shaft is a period replacement. G-5 $450-700

79 A RARE SPALDING & CO, SYRACUSE, NY smooth face Cleek circa 1894-97. Found in the same bag as the "SMCO" Iron, Wood & Putter. Absolutely SUPERB! G-9 $300-600
80 A VERY SCARCE PAXTON CLEEK. "P Paxton, Tooting Bec" boldly stamped on back of a circa late 19th Century smooth face Cleek with a thick saw tooth nicked hosel. The grip is a replacement over the original shaft. A nice example. G-7 $190-325
81 A RARE BROWN'S PATENT WATER MASHIE with three perforations at the toe and two at the heel. Made by Winton, Montrose & London and patented in 1906. A rare and elusive collectible. G-7 $1600-2400
82 A BUSSEY PATENTED IRON. Patented Steel Socket" and "Thistle" below "Bussey & Co., London" on a smooth face "Mashie". The steel socket "Seam" clearly visible on the hosel. Shaft is stamped "Mashie" in tiny letters below the replacement grip. G-5 $175-300
83 A GOOD GENERAL PURPOSE IRON. A mid to late 19th Century General Purpose Iron with a slightly dished and hooked smooth face. The nearly five inch long hosel with a squared of top of blade and hosel join has deep heavy saw tooth nicking indicative of Pre-1875 irons. The replacement shaft is stamped "R Forgan & Sons, St. Andrews" below a period type grip. G-6 $450-850
84 A DISH FACED LOFTING IRON circa 1880-1890 smooth, slightly dished and hooked face Lofting Iron in the John Gray style, however there are no back markings visible. The period replacement shaft is boldly stamped "G Forrester & Sons" below a nice grip. The top of blade and hosel join "Squared" indicating an early forging. G-7 $190-300
85 A RARE SPALDING SPECIAL RUT NIBLICK circa 1894-1896 with a small head and thick hosel. "Spalding Special" in block lettering on both head and shaft. Cooper states: "One of the hardest Spalding Niblicks to find. Rarity-7" He gives a price range of $500-2,000. G-6+ $650-1250
86 A RARE NICOLL RUT. A Rut Niblick circa 1895-98 with the "G Nicoll, Leven" pre "Hand" stamp. The shaft is a replacement. A very scarce and underrated early George Nicoll forging. G-6 $240-400
87 A RARE CIRCA 1870-1880 LONG BLADE CLEEK. The hosel is 4 1/2 inches long and has a "Squared Off" top of blade and hosel join indicative of pre-1890 forging. No maker's marks are visible on the back. Shaft and grip are replacements. G-5 $450-750
88 A CARRICK STYLE CLEEK circa 1880-1885 Cleek with an emoried sweet spot and made in the "Carrick" style. Period shaft with a period grip. G-5 $190-325
89 A FEATHER BALL PERIOD CLEEK circa 1860-1870 with the top of blade and hosel join squared. Clubs from this period are very underrated. G-6 $450-750
90 A GOOD GENERAL PURPOSE IRON c-1875-1885 the smooth, slightly hooked face has a nearly five inch long hosel and a squared off top of blade and hosel join. The replacement grip is stamped "Aitken" below an old leather grip. This looks like an early Park forging. G-6 $325-550
91 HAGEN CONCAVE SAND IRON in all original condition. Some chrome loss on the face. All stampings excellent. Original grip and end cap. G-7 $400-650
92 AN OUTSTANDING HAGEN CONCAVE wedge with very little chrome loss. G-8. $450-700
93 A SUPERB HAGEN CONCAVE SAND WEDGE. Virtually MINT with only the slightest evidence of play. Virtually no chrome loss and about half the shaft sticker is intact and the grip is a perfect "10". One of the finest I've handled! G-9 $550-850
256 KEMPSHALL ARLINGTON BRAMBLE with the date, 1906, in large numbers at the pole surrounded by "Pat. April, 11, 1899". "Arlington" in large letters surrounded by "Kempshall Mfg., Co." on the other pole. 70 % paint and a few very minor iron marks. G-6+ $175-275
257 KEMPSHALL ARLINGTON BRAMBLE with the date, 1907, in large numbers at the pole surrounded by "Pat. April, 11, 1899". "Arlington" in large letters surrounded by "Kempshall Mfg., Co." on the other pole. 85 % paint and a few iron marks. G-7 $190-300
258 A HEAVY COLONEL DIMPLE by St Mungo Mfg. circa 1912-16 with very large round, flat bottom dimples. "Heavy Colonel" at both poles. See P-213 of my book. About 50% original paint. No cover cracks and only a few light iron marks. G-5 $250-500
259 "THE SWAN" MESH with a square pattern similar to the Chemico on P-216 of my book. One void, the size of a pencil eraser, at the equator keeps this ball from the G-7 grade. G-4++ $125-225
260 AN "ARCH COLONEL" CRESCENT markings same as the ball P-218 of my book. Original paint in the crescents, remainder of the ball is tan to light brown. No iron marks on cover. G-6 $350-550
261 "BON-AMI" LARGE CIRCLE COVER ball similar to the "Tiger" balls P-216 of my book. "Bon-Ami" in French is "Good Friend". 85% original paint with iron marks and age cracks. Quite scarce and highly collectible. G-4+ $190-350
262 ARMY & NAVY with a "Hexagon" inside a circle cover pattern. Similar to the White Flyer. P-212 of my book with a Hexagon rather than the "Cross" inside the circle. Overall a nice ball, however has 2 minor cover voids. G-5 $190-325.
263 A "CHEMICO POPULAR" with very large round, flat bottom dimples similar to the Gamage Ariel, P-214 of my book. 85% original white paint with a few very minor iron marks. A nice ball! G-6++ $250-500
264 AN UNUSUAL "WHITE COLONEL" BRAMBLE. The ball is divided into four quadrants with "White Colonel" in the small circle at the poles. There are four other circles, each where the quadrant lines and the equator meet. No paint, but appears virtually unplayed. I searched all my references and could not find a photo of this ball or any other similar. G-7 $400-800
265 A "DUNLOP 'V'" with large round, flat dimples similar to the Gamage Ariel, P-214 of my book. 98% original white paint with a thin age crack. "The Dunlop" at one pole and a large red painted "V" on the other. A nice ball! G-6 $250-500
266 A MARTIN'S ZODIAK with raised dimples inside circles as pictured P-211 in my book. "Zodiak Patent" and "Martin's England" on the poles. G-5 $375-600
