Here is a similar banding, with slightly different edges inlayed in a sapele table.
The zebrawood is the same, only the outer veneer bands are different.
The black edges make it simple to stain the piece without staining the banding.
Mask off the banding to the black edges and stain the piece. The stain will not be noticeable on the black edges.
